What is a star map?

A picture of the night sky exactly as it stood over a specific place on a specific night: the stars, the constellations, the horizon. Not just any sky, but the one above the wedding, calculated for place, date and time.

Who is it for?

For a couple you want to give something they don’t already own twice. No other guest brings this sky, because no other guest thinks of this date.

Which date do I choose?

The wedding night, of course. If you know the couple well, there are two lovelier options: the night they met, or the evening of the proposal. Both tell a story only the two of them know. If unsure, ask a bridesmaid.

Is the sky really accurate?

Yes. We calculate the positions of the brightest stars from the Hipparcos catalogue for place, date and time and draw the constellation lines — the sky exactly as you would have seen it with the naked eye that night.

What is on it, what do I write?

The sky as a circle, below it place, country, date and coordinates, plus one line from you. For weddings people mostly write: “The beginning of everything”, “Under this sky we said yes”, both names with the date, “Forever, from today”, “Where it all began” (with the date they met). Everything is visible in the preview before you pay.

What does it cost, what do I get?

€9.90, once. You receive the print file by email two minutes after payment, sharp from A4 to A2 and for 50 × 70 cm. No shipping, no subscription. Print it at a copy shop, a drugstore or any photo service, usually for three to twelve euros; a standard-size frame from about ten euros.

Three designs — which one suits your wall?

All three variants share the same white typography and the same photorealistic moon phase. They differ only in the background — and therefore in how the poster feels in a room. You pick the design in the configurator and see it in the preview right away.

  • Midnight (default): deep night blue, almost black, with cool grey secondary text. Reads like a clear night sky and works with white walls, light wood, and both black and white frames.
